Nonprofits, Businesses Benefit from Neighborhood Assistance Program

October 22, 2026

HARRISBURG - On Monday, three local organizations in the 101st Legislative District received grants through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), which provides tax credits to businesses that support nonprofit projects aimed at revitalizing communities and improving quality of life, announced Rep. John Schlegel (R-Lebanon).

“This program incentivizes the businesses to contribute to the betterment of our communities. This is a win all of us,” said Schlegel.

Lebanon County Christian Ministries (LCCM) will receive a $13,000 grant to enhance its capacity, increase food access, reduce hunger and improve community health outcomes in Lebanon County.

WEPA Empowerment Center will receive a $90,000 grant to provide essential resources for individuals in Lebanon County and to address severe regional labor shortages by equipping underemployed residents with high-demand career skills.

Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania was awarded $69,300 for JA BizTown Mobile, which brings hands-on financial literacy and career readiness programming to Lebanon School District students, removing barriers to access and expanding educational opportunity to at-risk youth.

Businesses are encouraged to invest in projects to improve distressed areas and can receive tax credits of up to 95% on contributions they make to a qualifying community project. The projects must fall under one of the following categories: affordable housing programs, community services, crime prevention, education, job training or neighborhood assistance.
