Local Fire, EMS Services Receive $240,000 in State Grants, Schlegel Says

HARRISBURG – Rep. John Schlegel (R-Lebanon) announced today that 17 fire and emergency medical services (EMS) companies in the 101st Legislative District have been awarded $240,813 in state grants through the state Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program. The grants are the local share of about $38 million being disbursed statewide through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The funding may be used for construction or renovation of a unit’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training, debt reduction, education and public outreach, as well as staff recruitment and retention efforts.

Schlegel: Funding Awarded for Lebanon Steel Works Project

HARRISBURG – Rep. John Schlegel (R-Lebanon) announced today that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) approved more than $2 million for the city of Lebanon, on behalf of Second Sail Development, LLC, for the redevelopment of the Lebanon Steel Works site along Lincoln Avenue.

Schlegel Bill Would Expand Options for County Pension Plans

July 22, 2024

HARRISBURG – Rep. John Schlegel (R-Lebanon) is sponsoring legislation that would provide Pennsylvania’s county governments the option to offer their employees the same types of pension plans as those available to state and municipal employees. Currently, counties are permitted to offer their employees only a defined benefit pension plan. House Bill 2507 would provide counties with the option to offer a defined contribution plan instead.
